This is one of the world’s largest broad based laboratory equipment manufacturers with a reputation for product quality and performance. This demanding role is pivotal to the company’s continued success in driving service and support to their customers.

You will take responsibility for all production sites (UK & China) and operational activities which will serve customer demand for high quality scientific instruments at a cost which allows the company to maintain and improve gross margins, whilst optimising supply chain management and increasing overall efficiency in manufacturing operations. The emphasis will be on developing the operations strategy and delivering to or exceeding agreed objectives.

To be successful you will have a proven track record as a hands on Operations Director in an mechanical/electrical engineering organisation where delivery of results and achievement of objectives is paramount. You must also be able to work with individuals at all levels and throw equal enthusiasm behind the routine, hands-on activities as well as those requiring a higher profile. With strong commercial acumen, you have an abundance of common sense and pragmatism, remain effective under pressure and lead by example.

An experienced and driven individual with a passion and demonstrable track record in 5S, Lean, and continuous process improvement coupled to strong staff management skills will succeed in this role.
